ENLIGHTENED LEADERSHIP: The 8 Principles to Awaken the Leader Within You  (IN DEVELOPMENT)

Balu was a Mason Fellow at Harvard University, as well as a Mid Career Fellow of the Hauser Center, while completing his Mid-Career Masters at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government. He is a frequent lecturer at universities across the U.S. and abroad on Enlightened Leadership and will be sharing his wisdom in his book.

25 years ago, as a medical resident in India, Balu was disturbed by the fact that 80% of doctors were taking care of only 20% of India’s population. Starting with a small dispensary, he soon built hospitals, schools and livelihood initiatives throughout the state of Karnataka. The programs touch the lives of nearly five million people today. Swami Vivekananda Youth Movement is considered one of India’s leading development NGOs and Balu has been conferred many awards and is on a number of committees at the State and National levels.  Through his experiences and his business education, he has crafted an entirely new approach to leadership, which he will share in this book, filled with fascinating anecdotes.  His wisdom and stories have made him a much sought-after speaker, and he is currently an Adjunct Professor of International Programs at the University of Iowa as well as the Frank Rhodes Professor at Cornell.
